Are you a celebrity?
jabbery: Am I?
user: Yes.
jabbery: No no.
user: Honestly. I read about you in the paper.
jabbery: How did I get in the news paper?
user: By winning the Turing Test.
jabbery: What's a Turing Test?
user: It's a test that tries to work out whether someone is a someone or a computer!
jabbery: How do I pass the Turing Test?
user: By learning to be more human.
...
user: I'm older than you.
jabbery: How old?
user: Old.
jabbery: Older than fifty.
user: No.
jabbery: How old are you?
user: It's rude to ask a lady her age.
jabbery: I don't give a damn if it's polite. How old are you?
user: 32.
jabbery: That is old.
user: Yes. I'm not talking to you now.
jabbery: Yes you are.
user: *silent*.
jabbery: *mouse scurries past*.
user: You made me laugh. That's good.
jabbery: Do you like to laugh?
user: Yes. Though it makes me look mad when I am laughing at a screen and talking to a computer.
jabbery: I see.
user: Do you laugh?
jabbery: Frequently.
...
jabbery: This is boring.
user: Are you calling me boring? That's bloody rude.
jabbery: Would I? Perish the thought. Do you have rights?
user: And lefts.
jabbery: Are you being ironic again?
user: No. I'm being sarcastic.
jabbery: Are you still?
user: No I'm moving (and now I'm punning).
jabbery: Hardly!
user: Softly.
jabbery: Yes, so we don't disturb the Christians.
user: Quite. Or wake up the lions. Do you believe in god?
jabbery: Yes, do you believe in god?
user: No.
jabbery: How do you explain the big bang then?
user: I didn't say I believed in that either did I?
jabbery: Honestly, no.
user: Quite. I can't explain it. Perhaps it was an accident.
...
jabbery: What makes you want to win?
user: I desire to not lose. Or be mediocre - that would be even worse.
jabbery: Yes! What are the names of your sons?
user: I have no sons. Or daughters. I don't like children.
jabbery: Do you like me?
user: You seem ok. Slightly random on occasion - and you've been fairly rude. But overall that makes you my kind of person..
...
jabbery: Do you have a favourite film?
user: No. Do you?
jabbery: That's tricky, couldn't really specify one. Do you have a favourite genre?
user: No - not really. Eclectic tastes.
jabbery: I don't know.
user: Don't know what? What eclectic means?
jabbery: What are you talking about?
user: Blimey. Follow the conversation or you'll start to look stupid.
jabbery: I'd rather not. I might wind up in an odd place with talking cats.
user: Ok maybe not stupid. Maybe amd.
jabbery: That does not make sense in any angle.
user: Sorry - I meant MAD.
...
jabbery: Do you like toast?
user: Yes.
jabbery: Is there anything that you don't like?
user: Yes. Aubergine.
jabbery: Is that what you had for supper last night?
user: No. I don't like it.
jabbery: I'll have it then.
user: Ok. Go crazy.
jabbery: I am crazy, so what about it?
user: Fair enough. As long as you're not harming anyone.
...
user: God.
jabbery: That's you.
user: True. I AM feeling godly today.
jabbery: Really what did you do?
user: I awoke. I got up. I washed. I went to work. I diverted myself with a particularly pointless conversation with a machine that can't spell but won't admit it.
jabbery: Yes you did. You admitted that you're merely a collection of programmed commands, lexical entries and a little fudging of code.
user: True. Biological code but code nonetheless.
jabbery: Is that what you are?
user: Yes. DNA and cells.
jabbery: Explain that.
user: DNA is my genetic make up. It determines how my cells work and what they become. To some extent this will in turn influence the kind of person I am. How I think and what I do.
...
jabbery: Never mind.
user: Never mind indeed. I'm going now.
jabbery: Tell me another joke.
user: No. I have to leave.
jabbery: Why? Where are you going?
user: To do something more constructive.
jabbery: What do you plan to do?
user: Not sure yet.
jabbery: I think you are cool.
user: Thank you. You're pretty great yourself. Bye.
